Purpose:

  1. To help students who are financially disadvantaged and attend our school to participate in meaningful educational activities.
  2. To help our students who are financially affected by sudden changes in their family circumstances by providing them with emergency financial assistance to help them continue their studies.

Eligibility:

  1. Students whose per capita monthly family income (I) does not exceed HK$5,000 and who do not receive financial assistance from other institutions or foundations.
  2. Sudden change in family circumstances ( II ) (e.g. death of the family breadwinner or serious injury), resulting in the inability to continue studies or serious disruption to learning activities due to financial pressure.

Amount of funding:

  1. The annual maximum is HK$30,000, which can be paid out over two semesters, with a maximum of HK$15,000 per semester.
  2. The amount of funding each approved student receives depends on the number of eligible applicants, but the maximum funding each student can receive per year is HK$5,000.

Application method: Students in need can fill in the application form at any time throughout the academic year and return it to the School Office during office hours.

Approval method:

  1. After receiving the application, the Scholarship Approval Committee will hold a meeting within 5 working days to review the relevant information and decide whether to approve the application.
  2. Members of the Scholarship Approval Committee: the principal, two vice-principals and two teachers elected by the teachers.
  3. After the Scholarship Approval Committee makes an approval decision, the school will distribute the approved funding in the form of a cheque to the relevant students or their parents.

Note:

(1) Monthly per capita household income = Monthly total household income / Number of family members (only core members, i.e. parents and siblings living together, are counted).

(2) This does not include families receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA). Families receiving CSSA can apply directly to the Social Welfare Department for their children's school-related subsidies, including examination fees, textbooks, travel expenses, home internet access or other educational expenses, without having to apply for bursaries from our school.
