New Student Support
Our school has a planned approach to assisting new Form One students, providing adequate and systematic support, mobilizing school resources, and organizing appropriate gatherings and activities to help them adapt to the learning environment and integrate into campus life. This includes:
- The two-week free bridging course mainly teaches the basic knowledge of Chinese, English and mathematics, with English taught entirely by foreign teachers.
- Organizing adventure orientation days allows new students to get to know each other in a short period of time, reduces students’ unfamiliarity with the new environment and new friends, and strengthens their sense of belonging to the school.
- A "Freshman's Guide" booklet was produced to answer common questions freshmen may have about campus life and how to use campus facilities and services, to assist students and gradually foster a sense of "school is my home."
- The Student Growth Support Group trains "seniors" to understand the adaptation of Form One students through "intimate tea sessions" at the beginning of the semester and help them establish a good peer support system.
In addition, the school and the Parent-Teacher Association also actively organize activities to enable parents of new students to have a comprehensive understanding of the school and strengthen their connection and communication with the school. These include:
- Published the Parents' Handbook.
- Organize a Parents' Day for new students.
- The school social worker held a special lecture in September.
