Introduction

Most Chinese people have always held the view that "hard work pays off, play is useless." However, we must recognize that "sports" is different from "games." Liu Yongsong (1999) described "sports" as follows: "Sports is a formal educational activity aimed at enabling children to understand and develop their physical potential through movement, strengthen their ability to adapt to social environments and learn, and achieve balanced development in cognitive, emotional, psychological, motor skills, abilities, social, and other aspects of development."

The objectives of the Physical Education Department are:

  1. Improve students' interest in sports and help them develop the habit of actively participating in sports activities.
  2. To develop students' good health, fitness and physical coordination.
  3. Cultivate students' good moral behavior and cooperate with others in a group.
  4. Cultivate students' judgment and appreciation of beautiful movements.
  5. Teach the necessary sports knowledge.

  8. Other sports: dodgeball, juggling, Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu, fitness, etc.
  9. Physical training: circuit training and running around the school, specifically to improve various physical fitness indicators.

Physical education is a comprehensive education delivered through the medium of physical activity. It not only strengthens students' bodies but also cultivates their athleticism, teaches them how to interact with others, and how to face challenges. A successful physical education program aims to enable every student to find a sport they enjoy, gaining enjoyment and confidence from it, ultimately cultivating exercise as a healthy lifestyle habit that will benefit them throughout their lives.
